In July 2024, the Port Macquarie Community Health Centre and Wagga Wagga -Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) Amie St Clair Clinic, both launched their collaboration with ACRF ACEMID by enrolling their first research participants. This marked a major step forward in bringing advanced melanoma research and imaging technology to these NSW regional communities.
Residents now have access to cutting-edge 3D total body melanoma imaging technology previously limited to major metropolitan areas. Local residents can participate in innovative clinical imaging trials and studies, contributing to advancements in melanoma treatment. The initiative strengthens community health infrastructure and underscores a commitment to improving health outcomes locally.
With the installation of the final NSW site in Wagga Wagga and ACEMID project went live in Port Macquarie recently, all 15 ACRF ACEMID research sites are now recruiting participants.
